There are so many things we do each day that seem to be serving in the moment, but ultimately lead to a lack of calm later on (sometimes not that long after).  One of those things is making up plausible answers for questions we don't have answers for.  Wouldn't it be easier to say "I Don't Know"? It would definitely bring about more calm.  Let's talk about it.
