Deep breathing is the absolute easiest way to regain a sense of calm.  However, many people think it is a simple placebo, that something so simple must be ineffective.  How wrong they are.  

Today I talk about what exactly happens in your body when you practice deep breathing.  We will talk about the vagus nerve, diaphragm and the nervous system.  Put on your white coats.  It's time to play doctor.
